You could ask what letters the students could put before the consonant blends to make a word. Some students might remember the flashcards you showed earlier in the lesson. For example, you can put ‘a’ before ‘ct’ to make the word ‘act’.
You can select easier cards such as ‘e’ and ‘nd’ ‘end’ or ‘o’ and ‘ld’ for old, ‘e’ and ‘lk’ for ‘elk’ or ‘lf’ for ‘elf’.

Lay out a selection of beginning and ending words in to two piles face down.
1st player chooses a beginning word and an ending word, if they match to make a word he/she keeps them. If not, the player replace them back in the same position.
2nd player does the same. Winner has the most words.
